This week I am issuing a severe warning of an event that seems to be creeping ever, and inexorably, closer, on a daily basis. It fits the stated game plan perfectly, and each daily step that is taken makes the end result more likely, if not inevitable, unless drastic action is taken to stop it. I am talking, of course, about Donald Trump’s steady march towards eliminating democracy, as we know it, in the United States.
The current “war” between Governor Newsom of California and Texas Governor Abbott over who can steal the 2026 midterm congressional elections more effectively appears to me to be missing the main point, although I have to support Governor Newsom’s contention that “fire must be met with fire” in regard to the Trump orders to Abbott and the Texas republican legislature to twist the rules over how congressional districts are drawn with the objective of eliminating Democratic districts in the state. That reaction of Newsom seems to me to be a necessary evil, as long as it can be reversed in the future. Yes, it is dangerous, and unfortunate from a democratic point of view, but the alternative of letting Trump getting away with his ploy of trying to control elections, is, I think, far worse.
HOWEVER, THE MORE IMPORTANT, AND INFINITELY MORE DANGEROUS PART OF THE GAME PLAN, DICTATES THAT THE NEXT MAJOR ELECTION, NAMELY THE CONGRESSIONAL MIDTERMS IN 2026, BE ELIMINATED ALTOGETHER.
Declaration of martial law, abolishing the election because it costs too much, or whatever other spurious reason the Trump mob might come up with, would effectively erase all of Newsom, or any other democratic governor’s efforts to stop gerrymandering on a massive scale. If the election is abolished, there is no need to gerrymander anything. What could be easier to achieve his obvious goal of being dictator for life and avoiding going to prison?
I hear you cry, “That could never happen in America” but I ask you, as I have several times before in blogs, “How many times have you said that in the last six months?”
I don’t know what page of the Project 2025 plan this step of eliminating the elections is written on, but it was a fundamental step in the game plans of both Adolf Hitler and Julius Ceasar to achieve their total dictatorships, and Project 2025 is based, pretty closely, on those successful strategies.
Trump’s attempted takeover of the Washington DC police department this weekend is yet another programmed step in his authoritarian takeover of the country. His team have already indicated that they will soon implement the same takeover in all big city police forces throughout the country. Those takeovers serve two main purposes: The first is to create fear and compliance; and the second is to prepare the groundwork to put down any insurrection if-and-when the American people realize they have to take to the streets to save their democracy. Part of that takeover plan also includes the broadcast of totally fallacious information about crime rates in those cities, which Trump has already used to justify his actions in Washington DC.
I have to ask when the media, and the Democratic Party, are going to start screaming from the rooftops that these are all total lies but, far more dangerously, lies tied to a planned program of authoritarian takeover. Governor Newsom is courageously doing his bit, certainly at severe risk to himself and his family, but when will the rest of the country wake up to the looming threat, in many ways already successful and a fête-a-complis, and take to the streets to stop Trump and his cohorts and their coup.
I said, at the beginning of this blog, that this is a severe warning in the face of a systematic development plan for eliminating any power of the people to participate in choosing what leaders they have and what those leaders do.
Trump’s “moon-eyes” looks at Putin in Alaska on Friday says it all. And those words are not mine, they are the words of David Brooks, a prominent U.S. conservative columnist and author. David Brooks also posed the question of why the American people are not in the streets. He said that people in several countries in the world have done that recently to stop authoritarian takeovers, and asked what is wrong with Americans that they are acting so docile and compliant.
